To perform a standardized fatty acid analysis using the Omegametrix Method, our laboratory needs a blood sample. The easiest way to do this is to take a small blood sample from your finger, which you can do yourself in the comfort of your own home using our blood collection kit. The blood collection kit contains clear instructions and everything you need to take a blood sample safely and easily. You can then send the sample to our laboratory free of charge in the pre-paid return envelope. Our laboratory will usually analyze your blood sample within 48 hours of receiving it and then provide you with a clear, meaningful report on the status of your fatty acid composition.
The cost of the analysis using our blood collection kit is €74.24, including postage and the material required for one-off use. Billing is based on the German Medical Fee Schedule (GOÄ) twice according to number 3726.
Get a blood sample taken in a medical practice
You can also have a blood sample taken by a healthcare professional in your area who is familiar with our method. The sample will then be sent directly to our laboratory.

You can take it with you to a medical practice of your choice, have your blood sampled there, and then send the sample to us using the shipping material.

When offering this service to your patients, you can choose between two sampling options: send us either a dried blood or EDTA blood sample for analysis. 1. EDTA blood
When using EDTA blood, we provide you with our shipping material. In addition to a transport box for the safe dispatch of the EDTA tube, it contains a pre-addressed and pre-paid return envelope with which you can conveniently send the sample to us for analysis. A blood collection system and EDTA tube are not included.
2. Dried blood
We have developed a blood collection kit for dried blood that you can give to your patients to take home. The blood sample can be taken from the fingertip by your patients themselves and, thanks to the easy-to-understand instructions included, it can be carried out by anyone. The patient then sends the sample to us for analysis using the enclosed return envelope.
